Our Process
Pro ConneXion performs Maximum Edge sharpening, a system of tools and training proven by 23 NHL teams and hundreds of minor pro and college teams. We offer a superior standard in skate blade maintenance, and promise the cleanest, fastest edge you’ve ever skated on.
Each of our certified skate techs perform a 7 step machining, calibration, and finishing process, followed by a complete edge inspection under a high power magnifier. This results in the following benefits to the skater:
- no “missed” edges
- no edge break-in period after sharpening
- reduced fatigue
- no skate chatter on stops
Enemies of the finished edge
Of the entire skating experience, the most consistent and measurable process is our sharpening process. Despite the fact that we sharpen to a written performance standard, what we cannot guard against is:
- dirty ice, hard/soft ice
- dirty walkways
- contact with bolts under the bench
- contact with other skates
- screws in sill plates and boards all of which can ruin a freshly sharpened edge. WEAR YOUR SKATE GUARDS wherever possible!
